Eastern Dermatology and Pathology is the largest dermatology practice in eastern North Carolina. We have had a cosmetics department for some time, but only the basics, such as hair removal, which is already widely available. Dr. Mary Hellen Hutchinson and Dr. Cameron L. Smith, who formed "Palomar at Eastern Derm" as a marketing entitiy took a big step forward when they added the Palomar StarLux 500 platform, which greatly expanded the range of services we can offer.

The Candela GentleYagâ„¢ laser used here at Eastern Dermatology has been proven to be the leader in hair removal. This safely removes the unwanted hair without damaging the structure of the skin. This is an excellent treatment for ingrown hairs and will provide relief from razor bumps. A series of approximately six treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart, are necessary for the best results. This treatment can be used on all skin types and colors.
